Players from both Fiorentina and Inter Milan reacted quickly after midfielder Edoardo Bove collapsed during yesterday’s Serie A match.
This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInter1908. They note how Danilo Cataldi was the first to intervene with first aid.
Bove’s sudden collapse during yesterday’s Serie A match at the Stadio Artemio Franchi shocked the world of football.
After the 22-year-old was rushed to hospital, he has reportedly recovered.
Bove has regained consciousness. He has not suffered permanent damage, and is fully lucid and responsive.
But for several horrible minutes, the players of both Fiorentina and Inter needed to react to a situation in which Bove was not conscious and in need of immediate attention.
According to the Gazzetta, it was initially midfielder Danilo Cataldi who performed first aid to clear Bove’s airway.
Meanwhile, midfielder Yacine Adli was the first to organize a circle of players around the unconscious Bove.
This allowed the medical staff to attend to Bove without the crowd and cameras watching.
Both Fiorentina and Inter players immediately realized the gravity of the situations.
Players consoled each other. And also went to comfort Fiorentina coach Raffaele Palladino.
It was a hugely challenging and stressful situation. But both sets of players managed to get through it with some composure and quick action.
