EXCLUSIVE! Chelsea stepping up pursuit of Premier League striker – not Evan Ferguson!

Things have been very up and down and actually quite toxic at times, with many managers coming and going. There was a revealing interview out with one of those, Graham Potter, yesterday, where he went in a bit on the owners and said that how they came in and changed things so much with so many new signings at once made it unsustainable.

But one thing that has always been consistent at Chelsea during that time regardless is the Women’s team. They have just gone from strength to strength.

Obviously they now have a new manager there in Sonia Bompastor who is doing incredible since coming in this summer. But before her, Emma Hayes also did an incredible job.

Hayes was incredible at Chelsea

Hayes is now the current head coach of the Women’s USA national side, but she became a Chelsea legend during her time at the club and achieved great success here.

She has been speaking this week a bit more about why she left Chelsea, or at least how she was feeling about it all come the end.

Speaking in Camden about the perks of international football, Hayes told reporters on Monday: “I don’t have to sacrifice the things that made me healthy. I didn’t feel healthy at the end, I actually felt unwell at the end of my time at Chelsea.

“It wasn’t pressure, it was the stress and toll it took on me and doing that during menopause was even harder.

“To get on top of all of those things, I’ve got my mojo back and my smile and enjoyment back which I didn’t realise I had lost.”
