Inter Milan boss Simone Inzaghi has urged Lautaro Martinez to stay calm amid the Argentine’s roughest patch at Giuseppe Meazza.

The 48-year-old addressed the media after last night’s 2-0 home win against Como, admitting he’s not worried about his captain’s barren run via FCInterNews.

El Toro failed to get on the board for a fourth league outing on the spin.

Indeed, his last goal in Serie A came against Venezia on November 3.

That’s his longest scoring drought since firing blanks in the first four matches of the 2024/25 campaign.

Therefore, the 27-year-old remains at only five goals from 14 top-flight appearances.

However, Inter keep winning despite last season’s MVP award winner’s rotten patch.

Last night’s triumph was their 14th in 17 matches since a 2-1 Derby della Madonnina loss to AC Milan in mid-September.

As such, Inzaghi feels comfortable, even though his star striker cannot catch a break.

Inter Milan Coach Simone Inzaghi Urges Lautaro Martinez to Stay Calm

“I have to be honest, I’m not worried,” Inzaghi stated. “Out of the last ten, we’ve won eight, we are having a great run.

“I complimented Lautaro after the Lazio match, I haven’t watched today’s game yet, but if we win, it’s fine.

“It might be a problem for him, but the fans and teammates are with him, and the goal will come soon. He needs to stay calm.”

Unlike Martinez, Marcus Thuram enjoyed another remarkable game.

Indeed, the Frenchman drew level with Serie A’s top-scorer Mateo Retegui with a thunderous injury-time strike.

Meanwhile, Inter registered a third straight clean sheet since a 1-0 loss at Bayer Leverkusen.

“We started in one way, then we changed the setup a bit,” Inzaghi continued. “Bastoni hadn’t played as a center-back for years.

“Right now, with some absences, we need everyone, even De Vrij, who wasn’t 100% today but helped us in the last 20-25 minutes.”

Inzaghi also spoke kindly of Como boss Cesc Fabregas.

“I spoke to him before the match, I complimented him, and I told him to keep going like this,” he added.

“Today, they came to play a great game at our home, he’s a coach with excellent prospects.

“The competition is keeping an extremely high level, but I had said that it would be an open and exciting league.

“Everyone is winning, and there are teams like Como that came to play a great match at San Siro.”
