Borussia Dortmund are set to be boosted by the comeback of Karim Adeyemi soon, with the forward closing in on his return to training.
Having made a blistering start to the season, Karim Adeyemi has been sidelined since early October due to a muscle injury that he sustained after scoring a hat-trick against Celtic in the UEFA Champions League. The 22 year old is now finally closing in on his return to action with Ruhr Nachrichten reporting that he is expected back on the training pitch this week.
The report adds that the game against Borussia Mönchengladbach in the Bundesliga this weekend will come too soon for Adeyemi. But he could make his return to the squad for Borussia Dortmund's home game against FC Barcelona in the Champions League next week.
Adeyemi has five goals and five assists to his name in just eight appearances across all competitions this season. And he will hope to pick right up where he left off once he returns from injury.
The absence of Adeyemi has certainly been felt in the Borussia Dortmund attack in recent weeks. And his impending return will be a big boost to the team in the remaining games before the winter break.
The impending return of Karim Adeyemi will further bolster the Borussia Dortmund attack that has been finding its form in recent games. Jamie Gittens is enjoying a breakthrough season at BVB, while Serhou Guirassy has made a fine start since joining from VfB Stuttgart in the summer. With Maximilian Beier also showing encouraging signs, the BVB attack is well placed to end 2024 on a high.
