Kobbie Mainoo among six Man Utd players available for sale to fund summer rebuild

Manchester United are reportedly open to the idea of cashing in on midfielder Kobbie Mainoo this summer to fund a squad overhaul.
Teenage star Mainoo was touted as untouchable last summer but a drastic change in the narrative in January has sparked significant uncertainty over his future. United have decided no player is unavailable for transfer and reports of significant interest in Mainoo from Chelsea quickly surfaced.
Mainoo is approaching the final two years of his contract - whether United hold a 12-month extension clause has never been confirmed - and the drama surrounding his continuation with the team was ramped up by claims he is already planning to reject all offers of fresh terms in favour of taking his talents overseas.
Having clearly found themselves in a battle to retain Mainoo, United are open to a parting of ways during the summer, with Florian Plettenberg stating the Red Devils see his sale as a potential route to funding a spending spree this summer.
United are said to be confident that several "planned or possible" departures will bring in the required funds to spend big at the end of the season, with Mainoo seen as a candidate for sale alongside the likes of Victor Lindelof, Casemiro, Christian Eriksen, Marcus Rashford and Antony.
Previous reports have stressed United would value Mainoo at around £70m if they find themselves forced to cash in.
Importantly, United are not thought to be actively looking to sell Mainoo. Indeed, the desire is to find an agreement over a new contract, but the Red Devils would rather sell any player who indicates an interest in winding down their current deal and leaving for free.
Mainoo remains one of the lowest earners in the United squad but is seeking a contract to reflect his importance to Ruben Amorim's side.
