As 2025 draws nearer, Viktor Gyökeres is attracting interest from several top European clubs, with Sporting Lisbon reportedly open to selling their star striker. However, one club appears to be leading the race for the Swedish forward.
L’Équipe’s Loïc Tanzi reports that Paris Saint-Germain are closely monitoring Gyökeres and are planning to make a move for him in the summer of 2025. PSG’s sporting advisor, Luís Campos, is said to have already contacted the player’s representatives.
Meanwhile, Manchester United are also in the mix, with coach Rúben Amorim—who previously worked with Gyökeres at Sporting—pushing for a transfer. The Premier League club seems eager to secure the striker.
According to Sport, Barcelona are planning to sign Gyökeres for around €70 million, with the intention of loaning him back to Sporting for another season.

TEAMtalk reported on Friday, citing sources, that Manchester United, Newcastle United, and Paris Saint-Germain are the clubs most interested in Gyökeres, but one obstacle could prevent Ruben Amorim from reuniting with the striker at Old Trafford.
PSG have stepped up their pursuit of several attacking options to address their struggles in front of goal, especially in the Champions League. Among their targets, Gyökeres has emerged as their top priority.
Meanwhile, Manchester United could face a significant hurdle in their pursuit of Gyökeres. The Premier League club have a strained relationship with his agency, HCM Sports Management, stemming from their failed attempt to sign Frenkie de Jong, another of the agency’s clients. Notably, United defender Victor Lindelöf is also represented by the same group.
The report suggests this dynamic could heavily influence Gyökeres’ future and potentially weaken Manchester United’s chances of signing him ahead of Newcastle or PSG.
