Real Madrid & Arsenal tipped for surprise summer swap deal | OneFootball

La Liga giants Real Madrid have this week been tipped to play their part in what would be nothing short of a shock player swap deal.

The info comes courtesy of Spanish outlet Defensa Central, and points towards this potential exchange as being on the cards with Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal.

Real Madrid and Arsenal, it is understood, have both identified players from the other’s squad as leading transfer targets.

In the case of the former, Los Blancos are long-term admirers of William Saliba, whilst Arteta and co. consider Rodrygo the perfect addition to their frontline.

Defensa Central, in turn, have surprisingly gone as far as to claim that Arsenal ‘have considered swapping Saliba for Rodrygo’.

Florentino Pérez and co, though, are said to be unmoved by such a proposal, for a number of reasons:

‘Florentino is clear that he doesn’t intend to accept the exchange because, first, Rodrygo’s value is higher, and second, Saliba’s contract expires in two years, and if he doesn’t renew next summer, his market value will drop.’

One to keep an eye on ahead of the opening of the summer transfer window…
