Report: Milan and two rivals eye Bologna captain – Ibrahimovic a ‘big admirer’

AC Milan are looking ahead to the summer mercato, and reports suggest that there is an idea growing to add to the midfield, with an old target linked again.
Last season, Milan seemed to have an infatuation with Bologna. The Rossoblu defied odds by qualifying for the Champions League, and half of Europe took a liking to at least one of the side’s players, or the coach.
For the Rossoneri, it was a case of three, at least as Joshua Zirkzee, Thiago Motta and Lewis Ferguson were all linked to the club, with a game between the two even being deemed as a chance for the Diavolo’s higher-ups to scout the trio first hand.
Nevertheless, Motta went to Juventus, Zirkzee made a U-turn and Ferguson suffered an ACL injury, which kept him out of the European Championship.
It seems that the interest never faded, though, and with the Scotsman returning to his previous level, Milan are once again considering making a move, with Bologna valuing their captain at €30 million, according to Press and Journal.
A move will not be simple, though, as the club are hoping for a bidding war between the Rossoneri, Inter and Juventus, who all see him as a good addition to their squads.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic is reportedly a ‘big admirer’ of the midfielder too, but we are yet to see how much influence he will have after Gerry Cardinale’s decision.
