Arsenal welcome Manchester United to North London this evening in one of the Premier League’s most iconic fixtures.
Mikel Arteta’s team are on the rise after three impressive wins since returning from the international break, scoring 13 goals in victories over Nottingham Forest, Sporting CP and West Ham. The Gunners scored five times before half-time at West Ham at the weekend and next take on a Manchester United side who also arrive at the Emirates in buoyant mood.
Ruben Amorim celebrated his first league win as manager at the weekend with a resounding 4-0 win over Everton. With Bruno Fernandes and Marcus Rashford back in form, the Red Devils are looking to bounce back from a nightmare start and get back into European contention.
Arteta kept his cards close to his chest when discussing the condition of several Arsenal doubts. Gabriel and Riccardo Calafiori were brought off at West Ham, while Mikel Merino and Thomas Partey will also be assessed.
“We’re going to have a meeting this afternoon,” he said at his pre-match press conference.
“We have done a training session (this morning), we have monitored and kept a few away from certain activities and after that meeting we will decide if everyone is fit and available and who will start.”
Gabriel Martinelli could come back into the side after a weekend rest, while Jakub Kiwior and Oleksandr Zinchenko are on standby should Gabriel and Calafiori miss out.
Arsenal predicted XI: Raya; Timber, Saliba, Gabriel, Calafiori; Rice, Partey; Saka, Odegaard, Martinelli; Havertz.
Arsenal host Manchester United in the Premier League on Wednesday December 4th 2024. Kick-off at the Emirates is 20:15 GMT.
