In the meantime, the home side continue their pursuit of a place in the next Champions League, occupying 5th place with 49 points.

RB Leipzig had a very promising start to the season with their first eight Bundesliga games without conceding a goal, but in the 23 games that followed, they saw their defense concede in 16 matches, which cost Marco Rose his job before the end of the season in March.

On the other hand, Bayern Munich beat Mainz 05 3-0 to clinch the title in front of their home fans at the Allianz Arena, but Bayer Leverkusen didn't allow the Bavarians to celebrate last week, postponing the title race for another week
