While Real Madrid are set to face defeat in their pursuit of Alphonso Davies, it appears that they may be looking into the possibility of signing a different Bayern Munich on a free transfer in the summer.
Davies, 24, had been a priority target for the Merengues to reinforce the left-back position but is all set to sign a new contract with the Bundesliga giants.
However, it appears that his teammate, Joshua Kimmich, is sending out feelers to Real Madrid to explore the possibility of a summer transfer.
Indeed, according to Christian Falk of BILD, Joshua Kimmich is in contact with Real Madrid over the topic of his future, with less than six months left on his Bayern Munich contract.
The 29-year-old versatile German international sees his contract with the Bavarians expire at the end of the season.

And while the report suggests that his first priority would be to negotiate a contract extension with Bayern, it appears that he is not closing any doors.
As such, in case of a possible exit, Kimmich sees Real Madrid as the most appealing destination for him, even though he has previously been linked with clubs like Barcelona and Manchester City.
As for Real Madrid, there has been some tentative interest from the Spanish capital club in the midfielder, as they seek a replacement for Toni Kroos.
With Luka Modric’s contract expiring and Aurelien Tchouameni not clicking, it cannot be ruled out that a new midfielder will be on Los Blancos’ agenda come summer.
Kimmich, given his contract situation, experience, and proven pedigree, could be a viable target.
It is being claimed that Real Madrid and Kimmich are in contact regarding his future, but it remains to be seen whether this leads to something substantial in the months to come.
