PSG sold Xavi Simons to RB Leipzig earlier this year, resulting in Liverpool and Manchester United showing serious interest in the Dutch midfielder. Moreover, the deal included a sell-on clause, meaning PSG could cash in again if Leipzig decides to move him on.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Leipzig paid €80 million total—€55 million up front—and Simons signed a deal through June 2027. Still, there’s no certainty he’ll see out that contract in Germany.
With the summer transfer window approaching, speculation around Simons’ future is heating up. CaughtOffside reports that Manchester United may have the upper hand over City in the chase to land him.

Fichajes reports that Bayern Munich view Xavi Simons as a strong fit for their plans, but RB Leipzig’s asking price could be a major hurdle. The Red Bull-owned club, facing the setback of missing out on European competition, has already made Simons available for transfer.
Leipzig are reportedly demanding around €80 million, which has forced Bayern Munich to think carefully about whether they’re ready to commit to such a significant investment.
Simons’ camp is reportedly watching Bayern Munich’s next steps. While the interest from the Bavarian side is serious, any deal will likely hinge on potential departures from the squad—and whether deeper-pocketed clubs decide to make a move for the talented Dutchman.
Empire of the Kop recently reported that Liverpool are preparing an opening bid of around €60 million ($67.8 million) for the Netherlands international playmaker, as Arne Slot aims to boost his attack for next season.
However, despite Slot’s desire to make this player his first summer signing, the offer will likely fall short. RB Leipzig are reportedly holding out for closer to €80 million ($90.4 million).
