Bayern Munich have been active in the winter transfer window. They completed a move for Hoffenheim’s Tom Bischof earlier this week. The young midfielder will join Bayern in the summer on a free transfer.

Die Roten are also looking the strengthen the goalkeeping department in the winter. They had the first bid rejected for FC Koln’s Jonas Urbig. Bayern are expected to return with an improved offer since they are very eager to add Urbig to the squad for the rest of the season.

The interest Urbig raised doubts over the future of Daniel Peretz at Bayern. The Israeli goalkeeper has done a fine job this season when Manuel Neuer and Sven Ulreich were on the sidelines for different reasons.

RC Lens showed concrete interest in signing Peretz on loan from Bayern in the ongoing winter transfer window. However, Peretz has no plans to leave Munich. While talking to SportBild, Peretz confirmed that he will stay at Bayern at least until the end of the season.

"I've had a few talks and offers for a loan until the end of the season. There was interest. Of course it's good to gain match practice. I spoke with my family and my agents and decided to stay until the end of the season."Daniel Peretz

SportBild has also reported that Como, Tottenham Hotspur, and FC Copenhagen had also shown interest in Peretz this transfer window.

Peretz is not fazed by Bayern's pursuit of Urbig. He welcomes competition for places in the competition and looks forward to working with young German goalkeeper at Bayern.

Peretz will go out on loan in the summer

Bayern rate Peretz highly and expect him to be part of their long-term plans. However, he will have to go out on loan next season to get adequate game time. The 24-year-old will not have a lack of suitors in the summer, considering how well he has done for Bayern and the national team this season. Anderlecht was very interested in signing Peretz last summer. In an ideal scenario, he joins a Bundesliga club and plays every weekend next season.

With Manuel Neuer signing a new deal, it does look like Urbig will be number two next season. Sven Ulreich will likely be the third-choice goalkeeper. It remains to be seen what happens with Alexander Nubel in the long run.

Nubel was the favorite to succeed Neuer, but the signing of Urbig does raise doubts about Nubel’s long-term future in Munich. Die Roten extended his contract until 2029 in April last year after his impressive season with VfB Stuttgart. He is likely to stay at Stuttgart for one more season as Die Roten had agreed a further two-year loan deal. It will be interesting to see how things will pan out for Nubel at Bayern once he returns to Bavaria in 2026.
