The agent of Edoardo Bove, Diego Tavano, addressed his client’s decision to leave Roma as well as his uncertain future following the heart attack suffered in December.
“August 30 was a day that neither Edoardo nor I will ever forget,” Tavano told chiamarsibomber.com.
“We found ourselves with our backs to the wall in front of the possibility of moving to Nottingham Forest, with a possible loan to Olympiacos, given that the owner is the same. It was not an option that convinced us,” he added, “while Fiorentina was the right destination, so much so that I had been in contact with the general manager Pradé for weeks.”
“We pushed in that direction and friction arose: we did not understand why Edoardo had to be sold for such a low figure. He considers Roma his home and loves its fans, but when he understood the club’s intention, he resolutely chose Fiorentina.”
“And in hindsight, we were right,” he added.
“Edoardo is much more than just a client for me. He is a 22-year-old boy with the maturity of a man: intelligent, sensitive and special. After a difficult period, he is now well and continues to undergo check-ups, but we are optimistic.”
“His case has united so many people, as he himself said at the Sanremo Festival. The support he received went beyond football rivalries, demonstrating how special a person he is.”
“I also want to thank Florence and Fiorentina: the city has gathered around him with affection, the fans have pampered him and the club has always been by his side. Florence is a wonderful place with a big heart.”
