Fabregas Dishes on Theo Hernandez Chase and Nico Paz

Como coach Cesc Fabregas previewed the match with Napoli and touched on a pair of hot-button topics while attending a charity event in Sesto San Giovanni. He spoke to Tuttomercatoweb.

“A very important match awaits us. We’re working well. We are a young team that’s growing a lot. The Azzurri can certainly win the Scudetto given the quality of their squad and their coach and how hard they work under Antonio Conte. We’ll play our cards with aggressiveness and try giving them some trouble.”

Fabregas was asked about Como pursuing Theo Hernandez in January and Nico Paz.

“I don’t know. If the president said it, it must be true. That’s his area of expertise. I wouldn’t have needed to do anything. I expect Nico to keep growing. It’s his first season in the pros. He’s eager, and it’s a pleasure to coach people like that. We must stay quiet with him. He’ll be a special player, but he has a long way to go. You shouldn’t rush things in football. He’s learning a lot here and must grow in the right way. Let’s give him time and help him without putting too much pressure on him.”

Fabregas has done well in his first Serie A campaign.

“I like Italian football a lot. It’s an honor for me to be in this country and help the youngsters. I’m learning a lot and not only tactically. We’re imitating Atalanta’s man-to-man style now. It’s not easy for a gaffer to prepare games here. The opponents study you, and you always need to come up with something new. I’m very happy to be here. It’s a splendid experience for me.”
