‘He’s simply different’ – Diego Simeone praises Atlético star after comeback win vs Sevilla | OneFootball

Atlético Madrid head coach Diego Simeone has today moved to reveal his appreciation for Antoine Griezmann.

This comes owing to the Frenchman’s efforts en route to the club’s downing of Sevilla.

Atlético, of course, are fresh off a night to remember on Sunday.

After welcoming the aforementioned Sevilla to Spain’s capital, the Rojiblancos found themselves trailing by three goals to one early in the 2nd-half.

This, though, only served in setting the stage for the most remarkable of comeback victories.

After Antoine Griezmann first pulled one back for Atlético just beyond the hour mark, Samuel Lino levelled things up a short time later.

And, from here, it was Atléti’s talisman who proved himself the hero…

Slotting home his side’s 4th amid a seven-goal thriller, frontman Griezmann sparked chaotic celebrations across the Wanda Metropolitano on Sunday night.

And one individual on whom the significance of the Frenchman’s efforts was not at all lost, as alluded to above, was boss Diego Simeone.

Speaking to the media in the aftermath of an important three points for his side, the Argentine tactician gushed:

“There are players who are simply different, and Griezmann is one of them. We love him a lot; he’s someone who has always given absolutely everything for Atlético Madrid.”
