Inter Milan captain Lautaro Martinez feels that Kristjan Asllani “gives 100%” at the Nerazzurri, despite some criticism.

The Argentine praised his teammate after today’s Serie A win over Empoli, via FCInterNews. He also reacted to the 3-1 victory.

Asllani got his third straight start for Inter this evening.

The 22-year-old has started in Serie A matches against Venezia, Bologna, and Empoli with Hakan Calhanoglu out with an injury.

The reception for Asllani’s performances has been mixed.

But the Albanian international evidently has not let that get him down.

Asllani put in a mature performance against his former team Empoli this evening.

The 22-year-old had to fill in at the base of midfield, never an easy position to play particularly for a younger player.

But Asllani showed his personality as he directed traffic in the centre of the pitch.

Lautaro Martinez: “Kristjan Asllani Gives 100%, Like Everyone At Inter”

Inter captain Martinez gave his thoughts on Kristjan Asllani. “He’s still very young,” he said of the Albanian.

“I want to give his all on the pitch,” the Argentine continued. “Just like everyone else, to defend this shirt.”

“Sometimes things can go good or bad, but everyone has to give 100%. And he does.”

Martinez said that “the fans have to stick behind us.”

“Because everyone is giving their best.”

“We’re proud of the journey we’re on. It’s long, but we have to keep moving forward.”

Meanwhile, Martinez admitted that there was “definitely a bit of anger” in his celebration of his opening goal against Empoli.

“We dropped two points against Bologna. But we have to look forward.”

“It was a tricky match,” Martinez continued. “They closed shop defensively very well, but they didn’t create any problems for us.”

“Then in the second half we moved the ball more quickly,” the Inter captain added. “And we started to find space.”

“And in the end we scored. I’m happy with these three points.”

And Inter captain Lautaro Martinez called the title race with Napoli “beautiful.”

“We’re three points behind them, but with a game in hand,” he noted.

“But we have to just focus on ourselves. We have to work so that we can grow even more.”
