Manchester United have agreed on a six-month loan deal with PSV Eindhoven for left-back Tyrell Malacia.

Voetbal International journalist Joost Blaauwhof broke the news on X (formerly Twitter) and wrote, “Done deal! Tyrell Malacia is a player of PSV.

“Manchester United has arranged everything. Left back is employed by the Eindhoven team immediately.”

The left-back’s loan contract with the Eredivisie side also includes an option to buy at the end of the temporary stint, with Fabrizio Romano claiming the Dutch side will have to pay €10 million in the summer to make it permanent.

Malacia to PSV confirmed

“Tyrell Malacia leaves Man United to join PSV Eindhoven, here we go! Loan move with salary covered until June and buy option clause included, told it’s worth €10m.

“Understand Man United will also have 30% sell-on clause as part of the deal,” the Italian wrote.

INEOS showed their negotiation power by also inserting a 30 percent sell-on clause into the contract. This means despite the buy clause being on the lower side, United can potentially earn a lot should the player regain his best form and move somewhere else.

The move follows his previous loan deal with Benfica collapsing at the last moment. But United did not panic and instead of being lowballed by the Portuguese side, they went ahead and agreed a deal with PSV.

The full-back was struggling for form under Ruben Amorim, being substituted in each of his starts and the head coach gave his green light for the exit after the club brought on board Patrick Dorgu from Lecce.

He needs regular minutes

Malacia, who was former manager Erik ten Hag’s first signing, enjoyed a relatively successful debut season in which he made 39 appearances in all competitions while providing solid backup to Luke Shaw.

But his second season was a travesty with the 25-year-old missing the whole campaign due to a knee injury. And Amorim decided the Netherlands international was best served by moving somewhere he would earn regular minutes.

There was also reported interest in his services from Scottish giants Celtic as well as Spanish side Real Betis.

United fans will wish Malacia the best and will hope he can recapture his best form back in his homeland.
