Several European clubs are keen on Sporting Lisbon’s standout Viktor Gyökeres heading into 2025. Amid the ongoing rumors, the Swedish standout commented on his future and left the door open for speculation.

Loïc Tanzi of L’Équipe has revealed that Paris Saint-Germain are keeping a close eye on Gyökeres, with plans to pursue him in the summer of 2025. PSG’s sporting advisor, Luís Campos, has reportedly already made contact with the striker’s representatives.

Meanwhile, The Daily Briefing reports that Manchester United are preparing to make a move for Gyökeres, with coach Rúben Amorim—who worked with the striker in Lisbon—leading the charge.

Nonetheless, if these two clubs do push for the Swedish striker, one pundit believes that the player should be making a demand before even considering signing.

What demand should Viktor Gyökeres have?

On Saturday’s ESPN FC, pundit Steve Nicol stated that Gyökeres should stand firm and go to a club that views him as the No. 1 striker and not as a backup or perhaps a tandem.

“If you are Gyökeres, you are not going anywhere and sitting for a year,” Nicol said. “This guy can’t stop scoring and the only way you keep that going is by continuing to play and continue to do what you do.

“Whenever he leaves, he’s going somewhere where he’s playing. Because if he himself thinks it’s a good idea to go to Bayern Munich, or anywhere else, just to sit for a year, then he’s off his rocker.”

Last month, Florian Plettenberg from Sky Sports Germany reported that Gyökeres has a release clause of €100 million an agreement is in place for him to leave Sporting CP next summer for €60 million to €70 million.
