Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser Al-Khelaifi says he "loves" Liverpool winger Mohamed Salah but reiterated there is no truth to rumours linking him with a transfer to the French giants.

Salah's future at Anfield remains up in the air with his current contract set to expire at the end of the season. The Egyptian has 21 goal involvements in the Premier League so far this term, six clear of any other player, and has publicly alluded to his frustration over the situation.

PSG was touted as a potential destination for Salah should he leave Liverpool, though Al-Khelaifi has already shut down stories suggesting he is interested in a move for the 32-year-old.

While attending the Club World Cup draw, PSG's president told GIVEMESPORT: "I love Salah, also because he came from our part of the world. I am very proud of him, honestly, for what he's done in the Premier League with Liverpool.

"And I have big respect for him and for Liverpool. So we never talked to him. Respect Liverpool and respect the player - he has a contract with Liverpool and we never talked to him."

Reds manager Arne Slot has already admitted it is "difficult to predict" if Salah will stay on Merseyside beyond the current season. Liverpool are well placed in both the Premier League and Champions League but have other contract dilemmas with defensive stars Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold also having deals that run out in the summer.

The club is said to have fallen short with its first proposal to the Dutch centre-back, while Alexander-Arnold has been linked with a switch to Real Madrid, who have ruled out a move in January as they are only interested in a free transfer.
