Real Madrid are finally starting to react to Dani Carvajal’s injury, with Carlo Ancelotti notably placing added emphasis on correcting the team’s defensive shortcomings.
Ancelotti has faced immense criticism for not utilising the young talents coming out of La Fabrica, but it appears the Italian is finally starting to listen to critics.
As reported by Rodra P, Real Madrid have added Jesus Fortea to the Champions League B squad ahead of their encounter against AC Milan.
Fortea, a former Atletico Madrid prodigy, is regarded as one of the most talented fullbacks in the Real Madrid academy.
In fact, the youngster had emerged as one of the potential beneficiaries of Carvajal’s long-term injury. But he never really played any competitive game for Los Blancos.
However, in recent days, Fortea has gained traction among the technical staff and is reportedly set for first-team promotion.

It seems Real Madrid have added Fortea to the B squad as well, along with a couple of more youngsters in Hugo de Llanos and Yanez.
These three players join the likes of Yusi, Jacobo Ramon, Asencio, David Jimenez and Antonio David in the B squad.
Teams participating in the Champions League can add an unlimited number of players to the B squad, so long they meet the necessary criteria.
One of the criteria is that the player must be born after 2003 and must have played for the club for at least two years.
Fortea, in this aspect, joined Real Madrid Academy in the summer of 2022 – a move that broke the non-aggression pact between them and city rivals Atletico Madrid.
Whether or not Real Madrid plan to employ the services of Fortea in the upcoming Champions League matches, though, remains to be seen.
