Some interesting Premier League scorelines on Saturday.

Nobody saw Manchester City 0 Spurs 4 on the horizon. That’s Man City’s third league defeat on the spin and five in a row in all competitions.

Pep’s men will be soon back to near their best of course, but this result gives the Septic Six chasers a bit of extra hope, that they can catch up to the cartel on the pitch a little sooner.

Elsewhere, Aston Villa struggled to earn a point at home to Crystal Palace, only one win for Villa now in their last seven Premier League matches. Similar to Newcastle last season, Unai Emery’s side seem to be slightly hampered in the EPL this season, possibly because of their Champions League commitments.

As we are all aware, clubs like Newcastle and Villa who are knocking on the door of the so-called ‘Big Six’, must continually try to bolster their squads with quality players within our respective budgets.

Elsewhere, Bukayo Saka arose Lazarus-like from his sickbed that recently kept him out of England duty, to help guide Arsenal to a comfortable 3-0 win against Nottingham Forest at the Emirates, the ‘England’ winger scoring the first and getting an assist for the second.

I’ve a feeling Nuno Espirito Santo and his Tricky Trees’ bubble has now burst.

Brighton are going great guns and scored another impressive victory against south coast rivals Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium.

Gary O’Neill’s Wolves also continued their mini resurgence with an excellent 4-1 win against Fulham at Craven Cottage.

One of the funnier things I heard this weekend was that “Everton have as much chance of scoring a goal, as Oscar Pistorius has of getting athlete’s foot.”

Suffice to say it ended up goalless at Goodison when the Toffees faced Brentford, even though the visitors had to play more than half the match with 10 men.

Enzo Maresca seems to be doing a better job at Chelsea than his recent predecessors. His team are getting into winning habits and look like they are going to be challenging for the top four again.

That is of course also our aim, and after the way the results have played out so far this weekend, we can’t afford any slip-ups against West Ham United at St James’ Park on Monday night.
