Jobe Bellingham, the younger sibling of Real Madrid superstar Jude Bellingham, is reportedly set to reject any overtures from interested Premier League clubs including Manchester United.
United are believed to be keen on securing midfield reinforcements for Ruben Amorim, either this month if funds become available, or during the summer transfer window.
A report covered by The Peoples Person last month relayed that the Red Devils were eyeing a swoop for Jobe, who has had an incredible impact at Sunderland since he joined them in 2023 for a modest £1.5 million sum.
The midfielder has already notched four goals and three assists in 23 appearances this season, playing a crucial role in the Black Cats’ push for Premier League promotion.
It was stated that United have been keeping tabs on Jobe and he has impressed the club’s recruitment staff.
However, it seems like the Red Devils are headed for disappointment, with Jobe set to snub them, just as his brother did in 2020.
According to The Sun, Jobe is poised to remain at the Stadium of Light this month, despite admiration from Arsenal and United.
The Sun add, “Despite the major interest from English clubs in Jobe, it looks as though he could follow the same path as his sibling and look to join a top European club to play more games at a higher level.”
Other clubs thought to be keen on securing Jobe’s services include Crystal Palace, Tottenham Hotspur and Jude’s former club Borussia Dortmund.
It’s understood that Sunderland want to keep hold of “their biggest asset” to give themselves the best possible chance of climbing to the top flight.
A price tag of £20m has been quoted for the 19-year-old.
Meanwhile, United are back in action on Sunday when they take on Arsenal in the Emirates in the third round of the FA Cup.
