Lautaro Martinez has been named as the outstanding performer in yesterday’s Serie A clash between Lecce and Inter Milan.
Today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, hail the Nerazzurri captain’s virtuoso display. They also praise Davide Frattesi and Piotr Zielinski.
In recent weeks, it has really started to look like Inter captain Lautaro Martinez is back to his best.
The Argentine had struggled for form and goals earlier on in the campaign.
However, since the start of 2025, Martinez has been absolutely relentless in front of goal.
The 27-year-old has scored five goals in January, having also scored against Cagliari just before the new year.
Martinez hasn’t just been scoring, either. He has been coming up with some memorable goals.
The Argentine’s thunderbolt from range against Lecce yesterday was certainly an example of that.]

But that was not the full extent of Martinez’s performance by any means.
The Inter captain looked very sharp for the entire time he was on the pitch. As usual, he set the tone both in and out of possession.
And just as impressive as Martinez’s goal was his backheel assist for Denzel Dumfries on Inter’s third goal.
Meanwhile, the Gazzetta also praise Davide Frattesi for his own barnstorming performance. The 25-year-old scored Inter’s opener, and won the penalty for the fourth goal.
Then, Piotr ZIelinski also receives praise. The Poland international looked extremely comfortable in the holding midfield role.
