Barcelona starlet Lamine Yamal on Sunday secured for himself a fresh, and altogether impressive benchmark.
This came owing to his exploits in the Blaugrana’s showdown with arch rivals Real Madrid.
Barca of course marked their return to action yesterday evening, welcoming Carlo Ancelotti’s Blancos to Catalunya’s capital for a crunch top-of-the-table La Liga clash.
When all was said and done, Hansi Flick’s hosts emerged on the right side of the result, to all but secure their status as Spanish champions for 2024/25.
The aforementioned Lamine, meanwhile, played a starring role once more.
From his berth on the right flank, the 17-year-old caused Real Madrid’s backline all sorts of problems courtesy of trademark flicks and dribbles.
The highlight of his showing came during the first-half, when Lamine drew Barcelona on level terms courtesy of a wonderful left-footed strike.
And as alluded to above, in the process, the Spanish international hit a new personal benchmark.
As per journalist Fabrizio Romano, Lamine has now racked up 40 combined goals and assists this season.
