Paris Saint-Germain have focused on adding young, promising talent in recent transfer windows, but Luis Enrique and Luis Campos understand the importance of experienced players who fit their vision and system.

The club could look to strengthen its defense, especially with Milan Skriniar expected to leave permanently this summer after moving to Fenerbahçe in the winter transfer window.

Instead of making a big-money signing, PSG might target a short-term deal with a familiar free agent. Virgil van Dijk is set to be out of contract at the end of the season, and a report suggests he’s on PSG’s radar.

Anfield Watch recently reported that the French club is interested in the Liverpool captain. Although a video circulating last week showing him with Campos was purely coincidental, the Ligue 1 leaders are in talks with the Dutch defender’s agent.

PSG’s offer reportedly includes €80 million over two years, with an option for a third season and a significant signing bonus that would bring the total package to €100 million.

Despite the rumor linking the veteran center-back to PSG, former Man United and Blackburn chief scout Mick Brown revealed to Football Insider that Bayern Munich have contacted Van Dijk’s agent to open preliminary talks over a potential free transfer.

“Bayern Munich have emerged as serious contenders for Van Dijk,” Brown told Football Insider. “They’re speaking to his agent and seeing whether he would be interested in that move. Ultimately, I think money talks.

“They’ll look at what Harry Kane has done over there since moving away from the Premier League and how well he has performed. In comparison to the Premier League, it would be a relatively comfortable move for him to make.

“He could go there, without the pressure that comes with playing for Liverpool and playing in the Premier League, and just enjoy playing his game. But there’s no doubt, if you leave Liverpool and the Premier League to go anywhere else, it’s a step down.

“It will be up to him to decide whether he makes that move away or stays and competes with Liverpool because no decision has been made yet.”
