Everton have not been beaten to the signature of an attacker they have been heavily linked with as ‘they weren’t in for him’.
Toffees boss David Moyes is looking to do some business if he can before the transfer window closes and has been linked with Rennes left-back Adrien Truffert.
The Goodison Park outfit have a need for attacking options, given the injuries which have hit them in that department, and Beto started on Saturday.
Everton have been heavily linked with Brighton & Hove Albion attacker Evan Ferguson, but he is set for a medical at West Ham United.
According to journalist David Anderson, Everton have not been beaten to Ferguson though as ‘they weren’t in for him’.

Moyes would have to look to a permanent deal or a move from abroad to bolster his options.
