Jamal Musiala says he won’t make a decision on his future at Bayern Munich until 2025 amid links with several Premier League clubs.
The attacking midfielder has been in stellar form this season, registering nine goals and four assists in 14 appearances. Little wonder then that Bayern are working on a deal to extend his contract, which expires in 2026.
That has led to speculation over a potential transfer, with English sides Chelsea, Liverpool, Man City and Manchester United all linked with a move for the youngster.
Musiala is one of the most sought-after talents in Europe, with Barcelona, Real Madrid and PSG also said to be interested in the 21-year-old.
The Germany international gave no indication as to where his future lies in a press conference on Tuesday, but did reveal that he will give it more consideration after the midway point of the campaign.
“I can’t say much about my contract situation at the moment. My focus right now is on the two DFB games,” Musiala said.
“I just want to finish the first half of the season well, go full steam ahead, win games – and then we’ll see what happens.”
Asked what he’s missing from his game to become the perfect played, he responded: “For me, it’s always important to take a step forward. I did that last season, I took a step forward, but maybe the goals and assists were missing a bit.
“It’s about working to improve and staying fit to play as many games as possible and perform”
Musiala also spoke about the expectations placed on him as a young player and the pressure that comes with that.
“Over the years I’ve learned not to pay too much attention to that,” he said. “Of course it’s nice to read good things about yourself, but sometimes when things aren’t going well, you have to make sure you’re always in the same rhythm and focus. Experience helps with that”
