‘The Special One’ is arguably the most famous football manager in the 21st century both for his achievements and one-of-a-kind demeanor. The Portuguese hit superstardom after guiding Porto towards back-to-back UEFA Cup and Champions League triumphs between 2003 and 2004, and then went on to enjoy unforgettable stints at Chelsea, Inter Milan and Real Madrid.

Falling on Hard Times

In recent years, the 61-year-old’s aura has somewhat faded, especially after underwhelming spells at Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur, followed by his time at Roma which began on a high note before ending with an unceremonious sacking last January. Hence, Mourinho accepted a somewhat less prestigious role last summer when he agreed to take over Fenerbahce in an attempt to revive his career.

But when asked about his best career display in his interview with Il Corriere dello Sport (via Football Italia), his first pick was a victory over Lazio which dates back to his time at Porto.

However, Mourinho endured torrid times against Lazio during his stay at Roma, only registering one victory in six Derby della Capitale clashes. His Coppa Italia defeat to the Biancocelesti spelled the end of his time at Trigoria.
