With FC Barcelona set to square off against Real Madrid in a title-deciding encounter in La Liga on Sunday, they have received a major double boost.
As was expected, youngsters Alejandro Balde and Marc Casado have officially received the green light from the medical department to return to action after recovering from their injuries.
Balde had been out of action since the second week of April when he was sidelined with a hamstring injury.
Having missed key matches over the past three weeks, the left-back returned to group training in recent days and has been given the green light to return tomorrow, although it remains to be seen if he is ready to start against Real Madrid.
Meanwhile, Casado had picked up an injury in mid-March right before the international break and there were fears that he might not play again this season.
However, the midfield ace has worked hard on his recovery and is back in training in under two months and has been given the medical discharge ahead of the Clasico tomorrow.
As things stand, though, it is extremely unlikely that the La Masia midfielder will start, given that Hansi Flick will want to continue with the in-form duo of Pedri and Frenkie de Jong in the centre of the park.
But Casado’s return bodes well for the Blaugrana heading into the final few matches of the season.
