If you were to believe the hype then you would reckon that theRangers were crammed full of world class talent. Funnily enough it’s Celtic who will win the prizes this season…

Ever since their sides win over Celtic at Celtic Park nine days ago theRangers supporters have been lording it up, celebrating like they’d just had a successful session over at Casino Jet4Bet. Yes they just about deserved their victory and as serial losers against Celtic they have every right to feel excited about beating the dominant force in Scottish football on their own patch, but to say some of the hype around the Ibrox club and their players is over the top would be an understatement.

theRangers delusion has gone into full hyper-drive

Not that we should be surprised, as we know how their deluded minds work, but this is somewhat different altogether, and their delusion has gone into full hyper-drive.

International breaks are a time when most supporters pray for the return of club football, and for their players to arrive back unscathed, but not the Ibrox supporters who have somehow convinced themselves that their players have became world superstars overnight thanks to a few half decent displays for their nations.

Raskin apparently in now worth £30m

Nicolas Raskin believe it or not is now worth £30 million and a target for Real Madrid after an average showing for Belgium. Hamza Igamane is worth much more after a fleeting few minutes for Morocco, whilst Mohamed Diomande is a superstar in the making after playing just over an hour for the Ivory Coast against Gambia.

Yes it really is quite extraordinary, and we really shouldn’t be surprised. If you were to swallow this hype then you’d believe that the Ibrox side bolster a side crammed full of world class players, whilst Celtic contain a side full of also rans. Funnily enough it’s Celtic who will end the campaign with the most prizes, two possibly three.

Celtic close in on a Treble while theRangers focus is on the Europa League

While theRangers only hope of silverware is in the Europa League where they play Athletic Club from Bilbao next month in the quarterfinals. If their players are as good as they all think they are they should easily take care of the Basque club, should they not?

The problem longer term for theRangers supporters is that any emerging player of note coming through their ranks is going to be sold on before they can make any impact on a title race. The Europa League is a shop window for these players with their new-found stats as elites of European football. So if there is any substance whatsoever to their claims theRangers fans will have to watch their progress from afar because it won’t be happening at Ibrox.

Celtic are 13 points clear at the top of the league looking down on theRangers

Meanwhile Celtic are 13 points clear in the Scottish Premiership, have the Premier Sports League Cup in the trophy room and have a semi-final in the Scottish Cup to look forward to having earned record breaking revenues from the UEFA Champions League this season.
