‘Worry me a lot’ – Pellegatti explains why he has ‘a lot of fears’ about Milan’s planning

Carlo Pellegatti has admitted that he is worried about the direction that AC Milan are taking and the lack of news regarding a sporting director.
Milan are currently ninth in the league table and were knocked out of the Champions League by Feyenoord, so it has not been the kind of season all in charge hoped for. This has led to the presumption that some big changes will come, including a new director arriving.
However, developments have been slow on that particular front. A report from La Gazzetta dello Sport answered five key questions regarding the process to hire the new SD, and until that is resolved the feeling is that squad construction and the hiring of a new coach cannot really get underway.
Speaking on his YouTube channel, Pellegatti laid out his fears about Milan’s planning for the upcoming season, with his comments relayed by PianetaMilan.
“I’m waiting for this transfer market with a lot of fears. Who will lead it? Who will choose the players? With what budget? At the moment I’m not very calm, I hope I’m wrong, but I fear the next transfer campaign,” he said.
“I don’t see a Milan that invests with its own wallet without drawing on the money from the Champions League. Today, it is premature to talk about the transfer window and the coach. I think the watershed is May 14 [after the Coppa Italia final].
“Regarding the sporting director, I see the choice to continue with this management as increasingly possible. It would worry me a lot, I wanted a professional of the trade at a high level.”
