Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti personally made the call to cancel the club’s planned training session on Monday.
That’s according to Relevo, who have provided an insight into the latest developments behind the scenes in Spain’s capital.
Real, of course, are fresh off another evening to forget on Sunday.
In a fitting end to a hugely underwhelming campaign, Los Blancos saw their La Liga title chances brought to a definitive end, at the hands of arch rivals Barcelona.
As much gave rise to a heavy backlash on the part of the club’s supporters, a group of whom waited at Valdebebas last night to take aim at Real’s stars and coaching staff upon their return from Catalunya.
And as alluded to above, this protest, coupled with the devastating nature of his side’s fourth Clásico defeat of the season, evidently had a telling impact on Carlo Ancelotti.
This comes amid confirmation that the Italian cancelled a planned training session for Real Madrid’s players on Monday.
On the same day which saw the iconic tactician’s imminent departure for the Brazilian national team made official, Relevo report that:
‘Ancelotti ended up canceling Monday’s session. An improvised and surprising decision, given that there are only two days left until the match against Mallorca. There wouldn’t have been much work to be done because it was time for recovery, but there was a certain sense of abandonment.’
