FLW's Sheffield Wednesday fan pundit has taken aim at Dejphon Chansiri following Danny Rohl's departure

After much discourse surrounding his future, Danny Rohl has reportedly decided to leave his position as manager of Sheffield Wednesday amid interest from the Premier League and Bundesliga.
That's according to talkSPORT, who have claimed that the 36-year-old will quit his post at Hillsborough, despite the South Yorkshire outfit needing to be compensated for his eventual move to another club.
Brought in to pull off a great escape last term, Rohl dragged the Owls from the foot of the Championship and turned them into a competitive second-tier outfit.
The German manager is understood to have job offers lined up following his Wednesday departure, with strong links to Southampton emerging alongside interest from the Premier League, Bundesliga and Saudi Arabia.
Rohl signed a contract extension with the club in May 2024, on which he has two years remaining. His release clause is said to be around the £5 million mark.
FLW's resident Sheffield Wednesday fan pundit, Patrick McKenna, believes no blame can be issued to Rohl, but should be instead directed towards owner Dejphon Chansiri.
“It has been obvious for a number of months that the relationship between Rohl and Chansiri has broken down,” stated Patrick.
"And although he agreed to stay until the end of the season, it now seems Rohl is seeing his future away from Sheffield Wednesday.
“The interviews he's given in the past few days confirm Rohl’s state of mind and you know what he means by that, he is talking to the chairman and has already told him his decision.
“There's absolutely no shock that it has come to this.
“Rohl is an ambitious young coach who wants to work with the highest of standards and although he did sign a new contract last summer, that obviously came with promises of improvements and they have not been met.”
Rohl has dealt with a series of issues during his time at Hillsborough, and Patrick pointed towards a lack of financial backing as another factor for his exit.
“He had talked about looking forward to a January transfer window and he simply wasn't backed to any sort of acceptable level,” McKenna added.
“Of course, we did suffer, especially with the lack of defensive reinforcements, the training pitch was out of commission for a number of days in January and Rohl touched on how the lean structure at the club was ridiculous.
"There's nothing in place. It's just Chansiri on his own winging it.
“It's obvious Rohl wants away and you just cannot blame him.
"A football manager should be like any other job - if you had a terrible boss and they clearly didn't match your ambitions and couldn’t make them promises, would you want to stay? They don't have faith in Chansiri for anything.
“I wouldn't trust him to run a bath.”
Rohl arrived in England with an uphill task and got to work quickly, instilling hardworking antics amongst his squad and subsequently reaping the rewards.
His appointment - after spells as assistant to Hansi Flick at Bayern Munich and the German national team - was described himself as a “suicide mission” according to Kicker, but the coach quickly restored order.
The fact the German managed to transform the Owls into a completely different outfit hasn’t gone unnoticed, and now the time appears to have come for Rohl to leave.
It leaves Wednesday in a precarious position, with key players sure to look elsewhere following the departure of Rohl and their ownership under Chansiri.
The blow will be a big one for the Owls’ supporters, who would have seen a glimmer of hope under the German manager, someone to get behind and support to lead the team forward.
That is now over, and if Chansiri doesn’t profile a suitable replacement, things could turn even uglier within the Wednesday fan base.
