Manchester United are interested in signing Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford at the end of the season, and they will face competition from Arsenal and Newcastle United.
The likes of Manchester United and Newcastle are worried that they might miss out on Champions League qualification for the next season, and it will be difficult for them to attract the 25-year-old Cameroon attacker.
Mbeumo has established himself as one of the best attackers in the Premier League. He has 18 goals and seven assists to his name in the league season. He could prove to be an exceptional acquisition for all three clubs. He has been hailed as “unplayable” by Thomas Frank.
As per Football Insider, the player is valued at £60 million, and it will be interesting to see which of the three clubs is willing to come forward with their official offer.
Manchester United need more depth on the flanks, and the 25-year-old would be the ideal acquisition. He will add goals and creativity to the side. He could prove to be a major upgrade on players like Antony and Jadon Sancho, both of whom are expected to leave in the summer.
Meanwhile, Arsenal need more attacking depth on the side. Gabriel Martinelli has been underwhelming this season, but Mikel Arteta has not been able to rotate his squad properly due to the lack of options. Signing a quality attacker like Mbeumo could make a huge difference.
As far as Newcastle are concerned, they have been overly dependent on Anthony Gordon and Alexander Isak. Signing a right-sided attacker could complete their front three for the foreseeable future. The Brentford star certainly fits the profile, and it remains to be seen whether the Magpies can sign him.
Newcastle are pushing for a place in the top four, and Manchester United will have to qualify for the Champions League by winning the UEFA Europa League. It remains to be seen how the situation unfolds.
