Barcelona star aims social media dig at VAR after Real Sociedad defeat | OneFootball

Barcelona star Raphinha has taken to social media, to make clear his bemusement with the VAR team in charge of the club’s meeting with Real Sociedad.

Hansi Flick’s troops of course played out their final pre-international break fixture on Sunday night.

Fresh off seven successive wins across all competitions, Barca made the trip to Anoeta, for a La Liga meeting with the aforementioned Real Sociedad.

And, upon the full-time whistle bringing a close to proceedings, the evening’s visitors were brought firmly back down to earth, by way of a 1-0 defeat.

Whilst the Blaugrana’s eventual loss came largely owing to an underwhelming display, though, also contributing was a hugely controversial call on the part of VAR.

After Robert Lewandowski slotted home inside the opening quarter of an hour in San Sebastian, the goal was sent to the VAR room, to check for a potential offside.

And it was here that many of a Barca persuasion were quick to make clear their feelings that a mistake was made.

This comes amid the widespread consensus that the officials in charge of the clash mistook Sociedad defender Nayef Aguerd’s foot for that of Lewandowski, ruling the goal out as a result.

And one member of Hansi Flick’s squad who has since been quick to make clear his agreement with this sentiment comes in the form of Raphinha.

Taking to his official Instagram account in the aftermath of Sunday’s clash, the Brazilian reposted a humorous image, tagging teammate Lewandowski, and ridiculing VAR all in one fell swoop:
