Barcelona star returns to training ahead of Sevilla clash | OneFootball

A leading member of the midfield ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona has on Saturday returned to training alongside the rest of the club’s first-team squad.

The player in question? Gavi.

Youngster Gavi was for his part forced to sit out in midweek, as Barcelona made short work of Valencia to book their spot in the semi-finals of the Copa del Rey.

This came with the Spanish international having been forced to adhere to concussion protocol.

Gavi was involved in a nasty clash of heads during Barca’s La Liga meeting with Deportivo Alavés last weekend, which ultimately culminated in him being hooked from the action, and taken to hospital.

The 20-year-old had spent the week since training individually, to ensure a stable recovery.

And, as alluded to above, such a programme appears to have done the trick.

This comes amid confirmation on the part of journalist Nacho Jiménez that Gavi has on Saturday rejoined group training alongside the rest of Hansi Flick’s squad.

He is therefore expected to be available for selection to face Sevilla on Sunday.
