Former Barcelona captain Sergi Roberto, now plying his trade with Como in Serie A, has thrown his full support behind his former club ahead of their high-stakes UEFA Champions League semi-final against Inter Milan at San Siro.
Roberto, who remains a keen observer of Barça’s journey in Europe, confirmed that he won’t miss the match for anything in the world and expressed belief in the current squad.
Speaking with confidence (h/t Mundo Deportivo), he stated: “I have 100% faith in this team.”
Reflecting on the tactical dynamics of the clash, Roberto believes Inter will attempt to impose themselves early:
“Inter will definitely come out and press high, but Barça will have possession.
“Inter aren’t uncomfortable sitting deep, but playing at home and after how well Barça played in the second half at Camp Nou, they will want to press more.”
A key subplot, according to Roberto, lies in how Inter will deal with Barça’s breakout star Lamine Yamal.

“The real question is how they’re going to try to stop Lamine. Maybe they will use a third centre-back or drop a midfielder deeper—we’ll see.”
While many fans continue to carry the scars of past heartbreaks—especially the dramatic collapses in Rome (2018) and Liverpool (2019)—Roberto sees this as a fresh chapter.
“When things are going well, everything goes to you, and when things are going badly, nothing goes to you.
“Unconsciously, in games like this, if you’ve had bad experiences, they might concede a goal and you think, ‘Oh, oh, oh, it could happen again.'”
However, Roberto believes that the current generation, largely unburdened by those painful nights, is mentally equipped to avoid such pitfalls.
“The mind can be very cruel and play tricks on you. But these kids haven’t had those kinds of nights. That’s why I’m so optimistic,” he noted.
