Manchester United co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe is reported to be a big fan of Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane.
Kane's future with Bayern has been thrown into uncertainty by the recent revelation that his contract includes a series of release clauses. The striker has already declined to trigger his option to leave this summer but could be available for as little as €65m (£54m) in 2026.
BILD state Kane specifically negotiated these clauses to facilitate a potential return to the Premier League as he still has one eye on the division's all-time scoring record. When he left Tottenham Hotspur in 2013, he was just 47 goals behind Alan Shearer's tally of 260.
News of Kane's potential availability has reignited links with United, who repeatedly chased the England striker's signature before his move to Bayern, but Kane has already done his best to play down the speculation.
As revealed by Fabrizio Romano, United co-owner Ratcliffe is a "big fan" of Kane, although there is an acceptance that the Red Devils are currently trying to move in a different direction in the transfer market.
Ratcliffe is looking to reduce costs and build a squad which revolves around younger players, so spending £54m on a high-earning player who will turn 33 in 2026 is thought to be out of the question.
New United head coach Ruben Amorim wants a new striker this summer to aid the struggling duo of Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee, but reports have revolved around the likes of Sporting CP's Viktor Gyokeres or Napoli's Victor Osimhen, rather than Kane.
