Inter Milan enter April 2025 in contention to win the Champions League, Serie A and Coppa Italia. Just like in 2010.
Inter Milan has spent most of the Serie A season behind Napoli, fighting to prove to everyone that they were ready to fight.
They are now sitting at the top of the table with a three-point lead over Napoli. This after the an important 0-2 win against Atalanta.
While three points might not seem like much, the psychological advantage of surpassing and now extending the lead to Napoli is massive.
Conversely, Napoli may have lost steam.
Once a team has fought its way to the top, it is hard to see them give up the leader’s position. Especially given Inter’s offensive firepower and hunger for victory across the entire team.
Inter Milan captain Lautaro Martínez has rediscovered his scoring form at the perfect time. As exemplified in Bergamo against Atalanta, when the team needed him the most.
He has been instrumental not only in Serie A but also in the Champions League, where his goals have kept Inter as the only Serie A team left in the competition.
This hunger, drive, and consistency make Inter the biggest contenders for both domestic and European victories.

Meanwhile, Juventus, who just two weeks ago were considered a strong Scudetto challenger, have fallen behind by a daunting 12 points.
This, after losing to Atalanta 0-4 at home and to Fiorentina 3-0 away. This gap underlines the strength and consistency that Inter has demonstrated throughout the season.
The Nerazzurri’s ability to maintain momentum and dominate crucial fixtures has set them apart from their closest competitors.
What makes Inter even more formidable is their attacking style. Seventeen different players have scored for the team this season.
Something that showcases an unparalleled level of contribution across the squad. This diverse goal-scoring ability makes Inter one of the most statistically impressive teams on a global scale.
The squad’s offensive variety means that even if one player is tired, there are plenty of others ready to step up and find the back of the net.

Behind the scenes, Inter’s fitness for victory is also a story of smart management and smart transition.
The club’s new owners, Oaktree Capital, have empowered their technical director, Beppe Marotta, with the responsibility of allocating capital wisely.
Rather than indulging in splashy spending, Inter has built and maintained a competitive squad through smart capital allocation. This is what an investment fund at its best does.
This caution approach has allowed them to strengthen key positions without compromising financial stability. A model that many other clubs should take note of.
Yet, despite their success, Inter has faced significant scrutiny, criticism and refereeing injustice.
Whenever the team has tied a match, the media has been quick to criticize them, often exaggerating minor setbacks.
Lautaro Martínez himself has been unfairly targeted, with critics questioning his form whenever he goes through a brief goal drought.
Even some of the club’s own fans have expressed doubts about the new ownership. Believing that player acquisitions have been too conservative.

However, Inter has proven that a well-structured team does not need excessive spending to succeed.
Instead, their methodical approach has built a squad capable of delivering results both in Italy and on the European stage.
Adding to Inter’s strength, is their defensive solidity. With a well-organized defense and an impressive midfield that supports both offense and defense, the team is pretty much unbreakable.
Players like Nicolò Barella and Hakan Çalhanoğlu have been instrumental in directing the play, ensuring Inter is in control of matches from start to finish.
When the team looses steam, like in the match against Monza, after being down 2-0, Inter fought back and retook the lead, ending the game at 3-2.
Their ability to transition quickly from defense to attack has been a major factor in their success and come back when needed. Inter’s hunger for success can be seen both in Italy as well as in Europe.
The Champions League represents a golden opportunity for the Nerazzurri to win the trophy and bring in about €100 million in total prize money.

Their performances against top clubs have shown they can go toe-to-toe with the best, and with Lautaro leading the charge, their chances of winning in Europe look stronger than ever.
Looking ahead, Inter Milan could end up with the biggest season ever. My prediction? A jackpot. Inter will take their 21st Scudetto and lift the Champions League trophy in the Allianz Arena in Munich.
With an unstoppable attack, a well-balanced squad, and defenders like Dimarco able to score at any time, the Nerazzurri are set to take it all home both in Italy and Europe.
