Jonathan David teases ‘big decision’ amid Premier League interest | OneFootball

Jonathan David may have dropped a big hint that he could be on the way to the Premier League in the summer transfer window.

The in-demand striker’s contract with Lille expires at the end of the season, which could pave the way for a long-anticipated move to one of Europe’s top clubs.

There is reportedly an offer on the table for him to stay in France, but David says he is yet to make a decision on his future.

But the 25-year-old did add that he is weighing up the possibility of moving to a “big club” this summer as he considers the next step of his career.

“Obviously, with this summer going on, I’m not sure if I am staying or going,” David told CBS Sports following Canada’s 2-1 win over the USA on Sunday.

“But if I do end up going, I have to push myself at the very highest level, and after that, when you play for a big club, your position is never guaranteed. You need to fight.

“I’m never guaranteed, wherever I go, to start. In every game I have to perform and I’m willing to fight.

“Obviously, I know it is a big year and a big decision. I’ll make a wise decision.”

David has been in great form this season, scoring 23 goals and providing 10 assist across all competitions for Lille.

Arsenal, Manchester United and Spurs are all said to be in ‘concrete talks’ with the forward’s representatives, while Chelsea and West Ham United have also been linked.
