Leeds United played out a 2-2 draw with Queens Park Rangers on Saturday in the Championship.
The Whites conceded two goals within the opening 30 minutes of the game, but they rallied to level the scores, managing to come away with a point from Loftus Road.
Despite the draw, Leeds are still the top favourites of Football Today for automatic promotion to the Premier League.
The international break is upon us now and 15 of their players have been picked for international duty.
Dan James has been earning rave reviews with his performances in the English second-tier this season. He will hope to continue his good form for Wales when they take on Kazakhstan and North Macedonia. Karl Darlow has also been picked despite not making a single Championship apperance under Daniel Farke. Meanwhile, Joe Rodon is also part of their squad for the World Cup qualifiers.
The Dominican Republic will play two friendlies with Puerto Rico in March. Junior Firpo, who has been a key member for Leeds this term, could be seen in action for his country.
Issac Schmidt arrived at Elland Road in the summer, but it hasn’t been a good start for him in West Yorkshire, having made only seven substitute appearances so far. Yet, he has been named in the Switzerland squad to face Ireland and Luxembourg.
Ao Tanaka’s stocks have increased since his move to England last summer. The 26-year-old’s impressive form this campaign has been rewarded with a call-up to Japan’s squad for thier qualifiers against Bahrain and Saudi Arabia.
The young winger has been impressive for Leeds this campaign, making 14 goal contributions in 31 Championship appearances. The Yorkshire outfit will be hoping Manor Solomon can remain fit while on international duty for Israel.
Ilia Gruev missed Bulgaria’s matches in October due to injury, but he is now back and will be preparing to face Ireland twice in the Nations League.
Mateo Joseph has already earned five caps for Spain’s Under-21 side, with five goals to his name. He is set to face Germany and the Czech Republic during the break.
Wilfired Gnonto has already played 13 times for Italy’s senior side. He will represent the U21 side during the break when they take on the Netherlands and Denmark.
Scotland’s U21 side will meet Ireland in an away game on Friday followed by Iceland on March 25. Both Rory Mahady and Sam Chambers will be action for the two fixtures.
Diogo Monteiro joined the Whites in January 2023, but he is yet to make his senior debut for the club. However, the 20-year-old will showcase his skills for Portugal U21 side when they face Romania and England in March.
