Milan are showing strong interest in Almugera Kabar, whom they’d like to sign and groom behind Theo Hernandez. They believe the 18-year-old would be ready right away. He’d join their first team and not the Futuro squad should they onboard him, Gianluca Di Marzio informs.
The Rossoneri will make an attempt in January. However, the conditions will be more favorable in the summer. He has logged three appearances off the bench this season and has eight caps with Germany U-19. He’s tied to the Bundesliga outfit only until 2026.
According to Calciomercato, Milan have shortlisted Kabar as they are looking for somebody who could replace Hernandez down the road and not right away or next season. Despite the thorny talks to renew his contract, which expires in 18 months, the Rossoneri haven’t seriously entertained a sale to this day.
The Frenchman had a bounce-back performance in the Supercoppa Italiana final, while he wasn’t great in the Juventus meeting in Sergio Conceiçao’s debut. The negotiation will reprise after January. There’s a €1.5/2M gap between the offer and the demand salary-wise.
The price tag makes all the difference, but the creation of the second team should lead to this type of signing, as it helps accelerate the growth of youngsters who come in not totally ready. Still, they might already have a candidate for the role in Alex Jimenez. He’s not a lefty, but he’s versatile and has held his own at every position so far.
