Napoli boss Antonio Conte takes aim at Inter boss Simone Inzaghi | OneFootball

The Serie A will see Napoli take on Inter this weekend in what will be a huge game in the league and in the context of the title race. On Sunday evening, Inter will take on Juventus.

Things got interesting last weekend as Inter beat Fiorentina when Napoli were held to a draw by Udinese. As of now, there is only a one-point gap between the two sides and third-placed Atalanta are only five points behind leaders Napoli.

As both teams look set to play massive games in the season, Antonio Conte has ramped up the pressure on his counterpart Inzaghi and he did that using the topic of VAR, which has been a point of discussion in the Serie A over the last few weeks.

He said, via Calciomercato: “I’ve already said what I had to say, they were even harsh attacks when I spoke about VAR, I was the first to do so. I also spoke for the coaches, but I noticed that someone backed out saying that he speaks for him, but I saw that then they came back, they complained. Maybe the “we” was right, it wasn’t a discussion for me.

“I don’t want to get back into the discussions, it would be stupid, I said what I had to say. It makes me smile that many came to my line when they were personally affected, even some media took sides when some teams were affected, when I spoke instead there wasn’t all this solidarity, it makes you understand the discrepancy when you are in Naples.”

VAR has been talking point for not just Inter and Napoli but also for Milan, who played out a dramatic 2-0 win over Empoli at the weekend. But Conte’s comments are a clear indication of how he is weilding his sword in what what could be a decisive weekend.
