Game Week 29 of the Premier League featured nine matches, with some major results shaping the table. Brighton earned a hard-fought 2-2 draw at Manchester City, while Arsenal edged past Chelsea 1-0 in a London derby. Meanwhile, Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes stole the spotlight with two assists and a goal in their dominant 3-0 win over Leicester City.

Here are five key takeaways from the weekend:

1. Champions League race is set to go down to the wire

With just one more win needed from any of the remaining English teams in European competitions, it's almost certain that the Premier League will have five teams in next season’s UEFA Champions League. However, the battle for those spots is still wide open.

The league leader Liverpool seems like a sure bet, boasting a 12-point lead over Arsenal. The Gunners, four points ahead of Nottingham Forest, are also in a strong position. Forest, in turn, holds a five-point cushion over Chelsea. But beyond them, the race is incredibly tight, just five points separate Chelsea in fourth and Bournemouth in 10th.

Chelsea and Manchester City had the chance to create some breathing room at the top this week but failed to capitalize. Chelsea’s defeat and City’s draw mean they remain firmly in the mix. The Blues have struggled, winning just four times since mid-December, against teams all in the bottom five. Their upcoming fixtures won’t be easy. Meanwhile, City has been inconsistent for months and still seems like a shadow of their usual dominant selves.

Despite their promising performances, Newcastle United, Brighton, Fulham, Aston Villa, and Bournemouth have only managed to stay within reach of the top five. With fewer than 10 rounds remaining, any of these teams could put together a strong run and break into the Champions League spots.
