Paris Saint-Germain extended their Ligue 1 title race advantage by running out comfortable 2-0 winners over Saint-Étienne.

Boasting a four-point lead in the table over an impressive Marseille after their 2-1 win over Rennes, Luis Enrique's outfit matched their result while restoring their cushion at the top without issue.

A brace in the opening 45 minutes from French international winger Ousmane Dembélé saw the former Barcelona man find the back of the net during the run of play as well as from 12 yards out to put PSG in front to stay.

PSG were dominant in front of home support at Parc des Princes but were given a moment of pause when Georgian international Zuriko Davitashvili pulled one back for Eirik Horneland's troops after beating Gianluigi Donnarumma with a well-struck free-kick.

Though unlucky to not find a third on the night given their dominance in possession as well as in chance creation, Enrique would have to settle for a narrow win at the end of 90 minutes of action across what was otherwise a solid performance from the champions.

As for Saint-Étienne, their future in the French top flight remains in question as they continue to reside in the bottom three. They now face a key test against relegation-threatened Nantes next weekend.
