Ex-Lazio midfielder Marco Parolo believes Milan should retain Sergio Conceiçao for 2025-26, especially if he wins the Coppa Italia, but sees ‘confusion’ at the club.
Conceiçao is under contract until 2026, but the Rossoneri have an option to terminate the agreement at the end of the season.
Several coaches, especially Massimiliano Allegri and Maurizio Sarri, have been linked with the Rossoneri job, but Parolo believes the Rossoneri should keep Conceiçao for the next campaign.
“I think Conceiçao has Milan in his hands,” he told DAZN via Calciomercato.com.

“He has a chance to make an important end to the season and win the Coppa Italia. If he wins the Coppa Italia, he can sit down and say, ‘Hello, I am Conceiçao. This is what I want.’ Everyone would need to listen to Conceiçao today because there’s so much confusion at the club that they don’t know who they’ll hire as a sporting director. Moncada, Furlani and Ibrahimovic want to remain in control, and Conceiçao is the right man for them.”
Milan appointed Conceiçao in December after holding talks with Maurizio Sarri, who was seeking a long-term project.
The Rossoneri are ninth in the Serie A table and have little chance of qualifying for the Champions League. However, they’ve won the Supercoppa Italiana and qualified for the Coppa Italia Final, eliminating their city rivals Inter.
The Rossoneri have also finished the 2025-26 campaign without defeats against the Nerazzurri.
Tonight, Milan visit Genoa in the final game of Serie A Round 35.
