Manchester United jumped to 12th in the Premier League table following a 1-0 win over Fulham at Craven Cottage yesterday.
The Red Devils had a tough outing in the final third, but they eventually came on top after a deflected goal in the 78th minute.
Lisandro Martinez sealed the win with his effort. United managed to hold onto the slender lead to secure a much-needed victory.
Martinez bagged the man of the match for his all-round performance. Toby Collyer was brilliant as a substitute. He made a fantastic goal-line clearance.
Harry Maguire was also impressive. The Englishman relished the challenge against Raul Jimenez at the back.
The 31-year-old was brilliant in the middle of the back three and lost possession just twice.
Maguire was one of the best players on the pitch and received an 8/10 rating from the Manchester Evening News.
The centre-back’s future was uncertain under manager Erik ten Hag, but he has turned around his fortunes since Ruben Amorim took charge.
The former Leicester City man has excelled with his positioning and aerial presence. Playing in the heart of the back three has brought the best out of him.
Amorim recently confirmed that the experienced ace will be staying for another campaign. The club have triggered an extension clause in his existing contract.
If Maguire continues to perform in the same way going forward, Amorim may urge the hierarchy to hand him a new deal on reduced salary terms.
United will now turn their attention to the Europa League. They are set to visit FCSB in midweek before welcoming Crystal Palace in the league on Sunday.
