An update on the Spanish interest in the services of Bayern Munich star Joshua Kimmich has this week been forthcoming online.
And it points towards one of La Liga’s two leading clubs as having pulled out of the race for the German international.
Kimmich, for his part, is currently due to become a free agent in the summer, upon the expiration of his contract terms with the aforementioned Bayern.
The 30-year-old, it is understood, is yet to come to a definitive decision on his future beyond the close of the campaign.
With this as the background to the situation, both Barcelona and Real Madrid had been credited with a keen interest in bringing Kimmich in as a free agent.
As per a report from Diario Sport, citing BILD, however, the former have taken a step back from the operation:
‘The Blaugrana would have fallen out of the bidding due to Kimmich’s high salary demands.’
Real Madrid, on the other hand, remain very much in the hunt for the versatile midfielder, alongside all of Manchester City, Manchester United, and Paris Saint-Germain.
