The injury list at La Liga giants Barcelona has on Sunday been added to once more.

This comes as Hansi Flick’s troops continue to showcase remarkable resilience, despite facing up to nothing short of a personnel crisis.

Barca are fresh off keeping alive the club’s flawless opening to the La Liga campaign, courtesy of a 5-1 drubbing of Villarreal at El Madrigal.

On an otherwise stellar night’s work for the Blaugrana, however, one source of negativity was forthcoming, on the injury front.

As much came upon Marc-André ter Stegen being stretchered from the field of play late in the first-half, with what looked an altogether serious knee injury.

Early reports have since pointed towards the German international as being in line for a spell of as long as nine months out of action.

And, as alluded to above, in the process, the alarming situation in the medical room in Catalunya’s capital only continued to worsen.

Barcelona now have no fewer than eight first-team stars sidelined, with respective fitness problems.

The players in question? Gavi, Frenkie de Jong, Ronald Araújo, Andreas Christensen, Dani Olmo, Fermín López, Marc Bernal, and new addition Ter Stegen.
